My NEC has been pretty rock solid. No complaints here.

Used to have a Dell but now I have a Thinkpad by IBM and I'll never go back. It just feels way more sturdy and didn't come with all of that extra junk software that Dells come with out of the factory.

Sony was great in the past, however it's recent models don't seem too spectacular to me.
Apple has some great PCs but they are a bit expensive and don't work with certain programs/games that I'd like to use.
So I'll probably go for a PC brand, I'd say Acer, HPor eMachines are good for the most part. And while eMachines are low end PCs, they get the job done. And I've hardly had any issues with them.

I have an IBM I use for work and its been going strong for almost 3 years. The thinkpad's are well built and very durable. The only problems I've run into are OS related. :/
